Vaital Deul
Temple: Goddess Parvati-Chamunda is the center of the
temple Vaital Deul. Vaital Deul temple is situated
near the Bindusagar tank, a construction
of 8th century A.D. Goddess Chamunda is ornamented with skull
garland on her neck and seated on the top of a dead body, believed
as the first temple to depict the non-religious sculptural themes
on the walls of the temple. The interior of the temple is decorated
whereas exterior remain so simple.
Mukteshwar Temple: Mukteshwar Temple, the
home of Lord Shiva is the construction of 10th
century A.D. The temple is decorated with the fables
from Panchatantra. It always been a prominent pilgrimage
spot of Orissa that has two female figures at its gateways.
Parasurameswar Temple: This temple is dedicated
to Lord Shiva and the oldest Shiva temple of Bhubaneshwar.
Vishnu, Yama, Surya and Mother Goddess image is also there in the
place. It’s a carved temple with delicate carvings of elephant
and horse parades, creature figure, flowery motifs and the bust
of Shiva. Every year thousands of pilgrims made their holy journey
to Parasurameswar temple to unfold the Shahastra lingam or the 1000
small lingams.
