Badrinath-the abode
of Lord Vishnu is one of the four most holy sites of Char Dham.
Situated in the hills of Himalayan, the Badrinath is at the height
of 10,248 feet above sea level. Badrinath is the most prominent
pilgrimage spot accountable in gathering worldwide travelers instead
of its arduous route, lofty hilly terrain, curves and cliffs. The
oldest Hindu places of worship, Badrinath Dham is located on the
right bank of the river Alakananda. Among all the pilgrimages spots
Badrinath is adored to be the most pious and revered Hindu shrines
in India.
There are various places to see in Badrinath Tapt Kund and Surya Kund
is prominent among them. Badrinath can mainly be divided as Panch

Badrinath Temple: Badrinath
temple is situated on the right bank of river Alakananda bears an
altitude of 3,133 meters above sea level. Dedicated to Lord Vishnu,
the Badrinath temple is made in cone-shaped with a small cupola
of a gilt bull and spire. Adi Guru Shankaracharya - the philosopher-saint
of the 8th century, builds the temple. The temple has renovated
several times, its colorful 'Singh Dwara' or the main entrance gate
gives the temple an entirely new and modern look. The 'garbha griba',
the 'Darshan mandap' and 'sabha mandap” are three different
parts of the Badrinath temple. The temple has 15 idols, having a
prominent one-meter high image of Badrinath, finely sculpted in
black stone.
Tapt Kund: A large number of pilgrimage come to made their holy
dip, to the in the natural thermal springs on the banks of the river
Alakananda before entering to the Badrinath temple. Tapt Kund lays
a great significance within itself. The water of the Tapt Kund is
believed to have all the medicinal properties.

Hemkund Sahib (43 kms): Hemkund Sahib is an important pilgrimage
center sited near the Valley of Flowers. Hemkund Sahib is the holy
spot of Sikhs. The Sikh Shrine of Guru Govind Singh,
the tenth Guru who unified with God after a long meditation is stands
near its shore.
Brahma Kapal: Brahma Kapal, a holy site, a flat platform on the bank of the River Alakananda is significant for performing propitiating rites for deceased associates.
Neelkanth: Neelkanth is a Pyramidical-shaped snowy mountain towering above Badrinath, popularly known as the 'Garhwal Queen’ and a major Pilgrims attraction.
Mata Murti Temple: Mata Murti Temple is placed at the right bank of river Alakananda, is dedicated to lord Badrinathji.
